What is a photograph? In the past a photo was an image captured on a piece of film which was then developed in a darkroom and printed on special paper using an enlarger. Editing was quite limited with the ability to crop, dodge and burn along with some special tricks that could be done only in a darkroom. Today the digital image can be manipulated in an almost unlimited number of ways and may never actually be printed. The lessons and tricks learned in the darkroom years ago still can be used but they have been brought out of the dark and onto the computer screen. The key is still the picture as seen through the eye of the camera and the photographer that yields it. What is a photograph but a moment in time frozen for eternity
